Croatia's coronavirus test positivity rate drops to less than one percent

According to the National Civil Protection Directorate eleven new positive coronavirus test results have been registered over the past 24 hours, on the basis of 1 674 tests conducted in that period. This puts Croatia's test positivity rate over the past 24 hours at 0.65 percent. This is a continuation of the downward trend in new positive test results over the past couple of weeks.

Eight coronavirus-related deaths have been reported since Sunday, while 65 people with a positive test result have been given a clean bill of health. Currently there are 535 people with active positive test results, of which 282 are receiving treatment in hospital. 19 patients are on ventilators. 4 129 people are in self-isolation.


Since the beginning of the outbreak in Croatia, on February 25th of last year, when the first case was recorded in the country, 359 184 positive test results have been registered, of which 350 467 have since been given a clean bill of health. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths stands at 8 182 people, primarily elderly citizens with chronic illnesses. All told Croatia has conducted 2 112 159 tests. As of yesterday, Croatian health care workers have administered 2 359 472 doses of the coronavirus vaccine, with 1 450 798 people having received their first does, while 908 674 have received both injections. 4 422 doses of the vaccine were administered yesterday alone.
