Interior Minister Davor Božinović, during his stay in Split on the occasion of the Youth Sports Games, commented on recent discussions about paramilitary groups. He said that citizens need not fear for their safety.

“Our services and the security intelligence community have shown that they approach this problem seriously and that we are aware of how difficult and demanding it is, but that we will continue, even at an increased pace and with greater resources, to deal with and look for solutions to these events, because it is about something which can threaten the safety of our citizens,” said Minister Davor Božinović, stressing that citizens need not fear for their safety.

“We have a lot of challenges considering the number of people transiting through Croatia. We solve all this successfully because citizens must be safe, and in order for everyone to be safe, we must not underestimate these things, nor introduce any kind of unrest. We are all making maximum efforts to be able to act preventively at all times,” he pointed out.

He also referred to the affair in INA.

“The political determination and will with which the system is run, which here was in a position to collect the most evidence, namely the police, did work that lasted for several months in a professional manner, without any influence, just like the competent services of the Ministry of Finance that gave the first information that something suspicious happening there. After that, the police together with the State Attorney's Office did a very thorough job. It should all be brought to the stage when enough evidence is gathered to file certain charges. Sometimes people don't even know how much effort is needed for something like that. For one such operation, 50 police investigators had to work on this case every day to reach such a decision. When the police work like this, it is a sign that they are very professional, professional and independent,” said Minister Božinović.

When it comes to floods, he said that he spoken to the Director of Civil Protection, Damir Trut.

“It looks like the situation is getting better. There is no rain at the moment, two houses, it seems to me, are flooded, water has reached 20 houses. However, at this moment, further growth of the Kupa is not expected. I think that a wave is moving towards Sisak-Moslavina County, towards Petrinja and Sisak. People have been on the ground there since yesterday and are preparing. I think it will pass without consequences,” said Minister Božinović.
