In Croatia, the epidemiological picture remains favorable - there were 84 new cases of coronavirus infection today, which is 41 less than a week ago. The number of those being treated in hospitals is also decreasing - there are now 291 of them, and there are 24 patients on respirators. Another person has died as a result of the infection.

Vaccination continued across the country today - those who are still undecided are being urged by authorities to get vaccinated and not postpone the decision until the autumn. So far, more than 1.4 million people have been vaccinated with a single dose, and more than 875,000 citizens have received both doses.

In addition to the fact that vaccination will be an important wheel in the process of declaring an end to the epidemic, authorities hope that those who are still undecided, or decide on it in the fall, will find an additional motive in the new, milder regime of measures, with digital Covid certificates, as explained by the head of the National Civil Protection Headquarters Davor Božinović.

“People that have been vaccinated, recovered or tested negative for Covid-19, will have the possibility to conduct work at, and participate in, gatherings and events, without or with a lesser degree of adhering to special epidemiological measures. In the majority of those situations people will need to have European digital Covid certificates,” said Božinović.

The highest number of infected people today was in Zadar County - 31. There were 10 new cases in Zagreb, 9 in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and 8 in Zagreb and Osijek-Baranja counties. Four new cases were registered in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, which has not had a coronavirus related death for 16 days. Istria and Lika-Senj County have one new case each, while Sisak-Moslavina, Bjelovar-Bilogora, Požega-Slavonia, Krapina-Zagorje and Karlovac counties had no new cases.
