The program for the Rab Archaeological Traces project, which has included the island of Rab in the Rijeka - European Capital of Culture 2020 project as part of the 27 Neighborhoods program, was presented in Rijeka on Thursday.

The Rab Archaeological Traces project connects lesser-known points of cultural heritage and preserved nature throughout the island. 33 locations have been denoted, connecting three itineraries spanning a total length of about 40 kilometers.

The archaeological, sacral and ethnographic heritage of the island in the area of the Lopar peninsula, the Kalifront peninsula and the area of drywall construction near the town of Supetarska Draga were presented, together with maps and guides, while an application for mobile devices is under development. All this means that visitors will be able to engage in group and individual tours.

The mayor of the City of Rab, Nikola Grgurić, noted that the project honors what previous generations contributed to the island. He said that despite neglect in previous years, these treasures have now been restored and are accessible to everyone.

Rab's partner in the project is the National Museum of Archeology from Malta, whose experts helped with the project through their experience and work in the field.
